2. What data do we collect?

When you join the waiting list we collect only the data needed for pre-launch communication and for gauging regional demand:

• Email address
• Postal code
• Whether you are interested in providing services (worker) or ordering them (customer)

We collect no other personal data when you join the waiting list. The waiting list is intended for people aged 18 or over.

3. What do we use the data for?

We use the data for the following purposes:

• Launch communication: We email you when the Gigi service opens in your area or when the app becomes available to download.
• Mapping regional demand and supply: We use the postal code and the customer/worker choice to estimate where demand and supply for the service are highest, so we can plan the rollout to different areas.

The lawful basis for processing is the consent you give when joining the waiting list. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Providing this data is voluntary, but necessary to join the waiting list; without it you cannot join. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling based on this processing that would produce legal effects concerning you.

4. Disclosure and security

We do not sell or disclose your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Sign-ups are stored in Google LLC’s Google Forms and Google Sheets services (“Google”), which we use to run the waiting list and send launch communications. Google processes personal data on Gigi’s behalf and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Only people who need access for their work have it. If personal data is transferred to or processed outside the EU/EEA, we make sure the transfer is carried out as applicable data protection law requires (for example under the EU standard contractual clauses).

5. Retention

We keep this data only for as long as pre-launch communication and the waiting list are maintained, but no longer than 12 months after the service opens in your area, unless you have created an account by then.

When the service opens in your area, you may choose to use the same details to create an account; if so, the processing of personal data will then be governed by Gigi’s own privacy notice for the service.

Because processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it and leave the waiting list at any time by emailing us at hello@gigiapp.fi or by using the unsubscribe link in our emails. We then delete your data from the register without delay.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Be informed about which of your personal data we process.
• Access the personal data stored about you.
• Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Request that your personal data be deleted.
• Withdraw the consent you have given at any time.
• In certain situations, request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
• Receive the data stored about you in a machine-readable format (the right to data portability).
• Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.

To exercise your rights, contact hello@gigiapp.fi. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman) if you consider that your personal data has been processed unlawfully.

7. Website analytics

If you choose Accept all in the site’s cookie notice, we use the PostHog analytics service to understand how the site is used and where visitors come from. Without your acceptance, analytics is not loaded and nothing is stored on your device other than a record of your choice.

With analytics we collect:

• a random identifier stored in your browser, which links visits from the same browser
• the pages you view, where your visit came from (for example a campaign link’s source tag and the referring site), clicks, scrolling and time spent on a page
• device and browser details (device type, operating system, browser, screen size, language) and an approximate country and city derived from your IP address; we do not store the IP address itself
• session recordings, i.e. a recording of the page structure and your movements on it, and heatmaps; the contents of every form field are hidden and the waiting-list form is not recorded at all
• technical errors and loading performance of the site

We do not link analytics data to the waiting list or use it to identify you. The purpose is to improve the site and our marketing, and the legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the cookie settings at the bottom of the page by choosing Necessary only; analytics then stops and the identifiers are removed from your device.

PostHog Inc. processes the data on Gigi’s behalf. The data is stored on PostHog’s EU servers (Frankfurt, Germany). Because PostHog Inc. is a US company, the data may also be processed outside the EU/EEA; such transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep analytics event data for 12 months and session recordings for 30 days. The identifier stored in your browser expires after 12 months, and the record of your choice after 12 months, after which we ask for your consent again. Details of what is stored are in the cookie notice.

Because analytics data does not include your name or contact details, we usually cannot link it to you. You can still send requests about it to hello@gigiapp.fi.

8. Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice when needed, for example if the law or our service changes.
