2. What data do we collect?

When you join the waiting list we collect only the data needed for pre-launch communication and for gauging regional demand:

• Email address
• Postal code
• Whether you are interested in providing services (worker) or ordering them (customer)

We collect no other personal data when you join the waiting list. The waiting list is intended for people aged 18 or over.

3. What do we use the data for?

We use the data for the following purposes:

• Launch communication: We email you when the Gigi service opens in your area or when the app becomes available to download.
• Mapping regional demand and supply: We use the postal code and the customer/worker choice to estimate where demand and supply for the service are highest, so we can plan the rollout to different areas.

The lawful basis for processing is the consent you give when joining the waiting list. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Providing this data is voluntary, but necessary to join the waiting list; without it you cannot join. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling based on this processing that would produce legal effects concerning you.

4. Disclosure and security

We do not sell or disclose your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Sign-ups are stored in Google LLC’s Google Forms and Google Sheets services (“Google”), which we use to run the waiting list and send launch communications. Google processes personal data on Gigi’s behalf and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Only people who need access for their work have it. If personal data is transferred to or processed outside the EU/EEA, we make sure the transfer is carried out as applicable data protection law requires (for example under the EU standard contractual clauses).

5. Retention

We keep this data only for as long as pre-launch communication and the waiting list are maintained, but no longer than 12 months after the service opens in your area, unless you have created an account by then.

When the service opens in your area, you may choose to use the same details to create an account; if so, the processing of personal data will then be governed by Gigi’s own privacy notice for the service.

Because processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it and leave the waiting list at any time by emailing us at eero@gigiapp.fi or by using the unsubscribe link in our emails. We then delete your data from the register without delay.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Be informed about which of your personal data we process.
• Access the personal data stored about you.
• Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Request that your personal data be deleted.
• Withdraw the consent you have given at any time.
• In certain situations, request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
• Receive the data stored about you in a machine-readable format (the right to data portability).
• Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.

To exercise your rights, contact eero@gigiapp.fi. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman) if you consider that your personal data has been processed unlawfully.

7. Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice when needed, for example if the law or our service changes.
